A Quantifier, some, many, a lot of, a few, a little, much. They are usually used before a noun to express its quantity and worth.
Example:
1. I need some books to study for my exams.
2. There are a few people in the hall for dinner.
3. I have don't have any money to lend you at the moment.
'Many' is used with countable nouns ,and 'much' is used with uncountable nouns:
Examples:
1. There are many students in the college today.
2. I have a lot of friends in my college.
3. Much is used with uncountable Nouns
Examples:
1. I don't have much money to lend you now.
2. She does not have much time to study for the exam.
3. There are a few students who have their books in their bags.
4. There is a little water in the jug for us.
5. There is little chance for his survival at present.
