Clauses and Adverbs -Types of Clauses in English

Adverb and Clauses An Adverb is a word which modifies A Verb, An Adjective , An Adverb and A Clause. Modifying a Verb: Examples: She plays tennis well . She sings beautifully . (' well'  & 'beautifully '  are adverbs , modifying the verbs , ' plays' & 'sings'  Modifying an Adjective: Examples: She is a very good player.   ' good' is an adjective modifying the noun, 'player ' and 'very ' is an adverb, modifying the   adjective , 'good' They are very intelligent students .  Modifying an Adverb: Examples: She plays tennis very  well . She sings very beautifully . ('well' & 'beautifully' are adverbs, and the adverb, 'very' is qualifying them.   Modifying a Clause: There are three types of Clauses: a Noun Clause, An Adjective Clause, and an adverbial clause.
